Join us at Meeting The American Meteorological Society Aloha Chapter is planning to kick off for the 2010-2011 school year with a meet and greet event. We invite you to come to the National Weather Service conference room on the UH-Manoa campus/HIG building (Suite 250) on Tuesday, September 21st at 630pm. Pizza and refreshments will be provided by the AMS. I was not able to get a confirmed speaker for this meeting, but I will go over some things we plan to do/accomplish this year and get feedback and ideas from you all. We hope to get more of you involved with activities, outreach and speaking about your area of expertise making all of your involvement with AMS a worthwhile experience. Yearly dues are $15 and I hope that you decide to become a member. Join us at Speaker: Ray Tanabe NWS Topic: \"Top 5 Weather Events Affecting Hawaii in 2009\" We will be holding the last meeting of the year on December 8th, 2009 at 700 pm at Planet Hollywood in Waikiki. Ray Tanabe of the National Weather Service will be presenting a talk followed by dinner. The cost is $8 per person and RSVP is required as we will be charged for each person reserved whether you show up or not. The dues fund will pay for half of everyone's dinner.
